JGR Chardonnay grapes are sourced from Monterey County where they have cooler summer months and the coastal influence that Chardonnay thrives on. The wine making is all done at Tobin James Cellars.
This Chardonnay is a red drinker’s white wine. Although it may be a white wine, it expresses a creamy full-bodied mouth feel with strong structure and delightful flavors. It has a strong structure and drinks like a red when served just slightly chilled.
The most important characteristics of the James Gang Reserve Chardonnay are balance and harmony. Our Chardonnay expresses soft oak, rich butter, and vanilla cream, which do not overpower one another instead they sing together.
Food Pairings: Pair this wine with shellfish, fish, creamy pastas, and chicken dishes. Try with crab, lobster, or prawns dipped in butter or rich chicken fettuccine alfredo. Great with cedar plank halibut crusted with pistachio nuts. Grilled vegetables pair well with any of these main dishes. Great with creamy cow or sheep cheeses.
