Wine undoubtedly brings happiness to every wine lover out there. It draws a smile to our faces and relaxes our mind. With moderate consumption, wine does not only bring relaxation, but could also be excellent support for our physical health.
We all know that a few glasses of wine is good for our body, but how does it impact our health? The possibilities seem to be almost endless. From attacking cancer cells to a decreased mortality rate, a glass of wine a day can scoop a lot of beneficial effects for you.
Let’s talk about the pour size. Wine should be consumed in moderation, and although we use different glasses to drink wine, medical experts do not consider it a proper pour. A healthy glass of wine is a five-ounce pour. The advised number of glasses is one glass for women and two glasses for men. I know ladies, we wish more, but that’s life.
Now that we got every rule covered, let’s go to the fun part. Get a glass of wine and be ready to know how it will benefit your health.
While you should never stop drinking your vitamins, drinking a glass of white or red wine, such as Pomerol Bordeaux Wine, can give your immune system an extra boost. In moderate alcohol consumption, infections would ward off, and your immune system would always be in check. Excessive consumption can result differently and would severely impact your health.
Alcohol, in general, through moderate consumption, can prevent blood clotting. Thus, wine acts as a blood thinner, going through blood clots that could lead to stroke and breaking them. The beneficial effect has been proven to be better on females than males.
In particular, red wine contains a substance called phenols that act as a blood thinner, just like aspirin. Beware, though, while light consumption to moderate consumption is useful to prevent stroke, heavy drinkers would have a way opposite effect. The results may be a higher likelihood of heart attacks, and just like all good things in life, moderation is always the key to a better and healthier life.
In a war against free radicals, one of the main culprits of health problems such as cancer, a glass of wine could be your answer. Wine is full of antioxidants that keep our body healthy, and it attacks free radicals that lurk around.
The University of Barcelona scientists did a study and found out that the phenols on white wines, if not equal, is better than red wine. Impressive as it may sound, white wines provide better support in fighting off free radicals.
As everything that goes through time, we get older. As we age, our bones become weaker and more brittle. Through drinking milk, you could boost or raise your calcium intake, or you could indulge yourself with a rewarding sip of red wine.
Take note that red wine is known to possess high silicon levels, which is suitable for our bone density. With a glass of red wine, it lowers the chance of osteoporosis and boosts bone density. What’s more, it could help you have a better quality of sleep at night.
In the scur battle against heart disease, taking all precautions necessary is well worth it. Studies showed that tannins detected in red wine has a substance called procyanidins and phenols that offset free radicals, and have proved to be potent in averting and fighting cardiovascular diseases.
According to the studies conducted by the researchers at the Israel Institute, the blood vessel health enhanced after twenty-one consecutive days of red wine consumption. It increased the overall health of the hearth and has lowered the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Now the lesson is, if you want a healthy heart, drink a glass of wine, and bite the bullet. Although the American Heart Association doesn’t support drinking for those heavy drinkers or nondrinkers, those who already drink often can maintain light drinking for a healthy heart.
This might be a little out of hand and might sound crazy, but drinking a glass of wine is like food to the brain. Drinking a glass of wine has been proven to improve brain function. Red wine has chemicals that prevent the brain’s inner neurons from dying off. So the next time you do brain exercises, drink a glass of wine to help gear you up.
Drinking wine is not always for its unique and exciting taste, but because of the health benefits, it provides. Though, just like anything good in life, moderation is key to having a wealthier and healthier life. Have a glass of wine and spear off those bad health habits to promote a strong body and a happier life.
