Description
Late to ripen, this Bordeaux variety is usually one of the last we harvest and the wine is stained inky black almost immediately. Rarely bottled on its own, this small-lot wine demonstrates the herbal, floral, gravelly, brambly enigma of Petit Verdot.
The Wine
This wine is dense and lively with notes of violet, plum, and a hint of jasmine. Bright on the palate, juicy dark-fruit flavors are accented with notes of savory truffles and black pepper. The seamless layers and round tannins lead to a long, enduring finish.
