Description
Sazerac is a 6-year-old Rye Whiskey produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery. This is the rye whiskey that started the first branded cocktail, “The Sazerac.”
The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the custom and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that goes back to the 1800's, around the time when saloons, hidden as Coffee Houses, started coating the avenues of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where neighborhood supporters were served beverages made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. The drink ended up known as the "Sazerac" and America's initially marked mixed drink was conceived. This is the bourbon that began everything.
