Santo Puro Mezquila is a unique spirit that combines elements of both mezcal and tequila. It's a collaboration between Sammy Hagar, a rock musician, and Adam Levine, lead vocalist of Maroon 5, along with Juan Eduardo Nuñez, a master distiller from Mexico.
Mezquila is made from a blend of two traditional Mexican spirits: mezcal and tequila. Mezcal is typically made from agave plants that are roasted in underground pits, giving it a smoky and earthy flavor, while tequila is made from the blue agave plant and often has a smoother and more herbaceous profile.
