Josephine’s Flathead River Rye Whiskey Bourbon honors legendary bootlegger Josephine Doody, who was known as the Bootleg Lady of Glacier Park and when the train approached the Flathead river, it would signal with toots of the horn how many gallons of moonshine they were ordering.
Josephine’s Flathead River Rye – 95% rye, 5% malted barley and aged for at least 5 years in 53 gallon new white oak #3 char barrels and is triple pot distilled.
We bring our Tennessee-crafted straight rye whiskey to proof using Rocky Mountain waters using the same pure water in Montana that Josephine would have used almost 100 years ago.
This hallmark rye is Chapter 1 – a limited release of 30 barrels – is approachable and inviting, with exceptional flavor, fruit and creamy spice notes that flood the palate with deliciousness.
APPEARANCE
Darker red-hued gold with amber and brown tones.
NOSE
Inviting nose with sweet notes of vanilla, lightly charred wood and grilled peaches.
PALATE
Flooded with creamy spiced rye grains, oak, earthy notes.
FINISH
Sweet vanilla and roasted marshmallow, creamy and enjoyable.
