Every year, Monkey 47 embarks on a quest to find that “Species Rara” – that one extra special ingredient for our Distiller’s Cut, a limited release batch. Available only in Europe until now, Distlller’s Cut will be available in the U.S. for the first time ever.
This year, the "secret" 48th botanical is Myristicae arillus, the seed covering of nutmeg. To create Distiller's Cut, Myristicae arillus is added to a macerate containing the 47 ingredients. The botanicals are then distilled again in a second extraction procedure, left to mature for three months in earthenware and finally combined with local spring water.
