For their Merlet VSOP cognac, Gilles and his sons have selected and assembled eaux-de-vie of at least four years old, from different regions of the cognac appellation, to ensure the consistency of its quality. The blend is mainly made up of Fins Bois cognacs, renowned for their fruity aromas and their ability to reach maturity quickly during aging in barrels. The complexity is provided by cognacs from Petite Champagne. Depending on the blends, other crus distilled by the Distillerie Merlet may be used in the composition. Merlet VSOP cognac is thus characterized by intense and subtle notes of fruit, such as peach and a round and supple mouth.
Merlet VSOP is a gourmet cognac for pure tasting or in cocktails such as Horse's neck and Cognac Collins.
