Our 10 Year Old is the original Laphroaig, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it more than 75 years ago. It is the foundation of all other Laphroaig expressions.
In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.
Those enjoying the 10 Year Old will first notice the bold, smoky taste, followed by a hint of seaweed and a surprising sweetness. This full-bodied variant is the foundation of all Laphroaig expressions and comes with a long finish.

Had a bottle shipped to my son in Oklahoma. It arrived on time and the price was still better than what i have to pay in Washington. I recommend these guys all day!
Laphroaig 10 year-old is my go-to single malt. Islay is known for the peatiness of its scotch - and Laphroaig is just about the peatiest of Islay. Rich, heavy peat, a wonderful flavor for those who love the smokiness - but it's not for everyone. The world is divided into 2 camps: those who, once having tried Laphroaig, drink nothing else - and those who try it and spit it on the floor. Laphroaig makes a 15-year old, which is more refined - smoother and more subtle. For me - welll, I prefer the hit-you-between-the-eyes impact of the 10-year old. Wonderful drink
