Description
Islay's Bowmore distillery and Aston Martin have once again teamed up to bring you a remarkable creation - the 22 Year Old, part of the Masters' Selection. This extraordinary blend of whisky is a culmination of expertise and artistry, aged in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads and European oak sherry butts, incorporating whisky distilled in 1997 and 2000, and finished in Tawny Port casks.
The combined effort of master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman has resulted in a stunning whisky, inspired by their shared values of heritage and innovation.
On the nose, the whisky offers sweet and fruity aromas of heather honey, cherries, and lychees, accompanied by a floral character and a hint of eucalyptus. You'll also pick up oak spices, fresh tobacco leaves, and a touch of aniseed and mint.
The palate is equally impressive, with malty spice notes of vanilla fudge, golden syrup, and butterscotch, along with thyme and white pepper. Woody notes of dry oak, hazelnut, Demerara sugar, maple syrup, and dates add depth and complexity to the palate.
The finish is long and satisfying, with a delightful sweetness and woody notes that are perfectly balanced with liquorice sticks, providing a spicy mouthfeel and just a touch of peat smoke. With this exceptional collaboration, Bowmore and Aston Martin have delivered yet another phenomenal whisky that is sure to delight connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
