Description
Towards the end of 2013, our first year of partnering up with the Ecurie Ecosse motor racing team, we invited the racing drivers up to Black Bull HQ in Huntly for a few days and gave them an in-depth whisky and blending education, culminating in a cask sampling session in our warehouse.
From that sampling session, the racing drivers chose their favourite malt whiskies, which included Bladnoch, Glen Moray, Royal Brackla and Springbank, and grain whiskies, which included Cameronbrige and Girvan, and we then blended together to create the Racers Reserve, a 21 Year Old full bodied, rich, throaty whisky.
As the guys from Ecurie Ecosse said on tasting it, The Racers Reserve is a top step of the podium whisky.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Full gold.
Nose
Zesty orange peel, plums with a distant smokiness.
Palate
Stewed fruit, fudge tablet, dark chocolate, melted butter and lemon curd.
Finish
Long. An assertive sweetness is unlocked. Some herbal notes – peppermint, then old mahogany and worn leather.

A highly dynamic and distinct expression of Black Bull.
