Single Malt Miyagikyo Limited Edition 2019, with only 70 bottles available. This expression is a composition of whiskies from the past five – 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Miyagikyo expression, the single malt contains some of the very first whisky coming out of the distillery.
This is a new expression launched in 2020. While remaining a smooth and well-balanced blended malt, the formula has been refined to further showcase an exquisite balance between elegant softness and deep complexity along with rich mouthfeel and smokiness.

The sweet aftertaste is outstanding; barrel brings out different levels of spice flavours. Deep floral woody scent is also full of vitality.

Maltose, a little bit tones of fruits citrus, Mizunara oak, coffee beans;
Medium, woody, back to sweet aftertaste of maltose.
The flavor from alcohol is not that strong, compared to its labeled year, which tastes smooth and easy to drink.
Telltale aromas of candied orange peel, toffee, sweet smoke, and toasted hazelnuts are augmented by distinctive herbal tea and spice notes. The palate is surprisingly mellow, with more fruit-forward characteristics bolstered by pepper and spice on the finish.
Softly roasted nuts, jellied pear, and honeysuckle all come through on the nose of this Japanese whisky. Black pepper and clove come through early on the palate, ripe citrus fruit and baked apples developing before a long, smooth finish.

Masataka devoted himself into creating this whisky soon after his wife Rita’s death to represent his deep love for her.
He could never have accomplished his dream to make genuine whisky in Japan without the support from Rita.

The honorable golden emblem designed by Masataka Taketsuru in 1940 and the asymmetry bottle design inspired by “Kimono” show the layers of tradition.
Nikka Miyagikyo offers more vanilla and honeyed aromatics. There’s also a floral, tea-like sensation attached to its creamier mouthfeel.
Nikka Yoichi, tempers underlying peat elements with a nose of freshly-baked orchard fruit. Smoked pear and candied apple emerge on the palate.
