Kretaraki Meli is what is lovingly known on the island of Crete as “Rakomelo.” This liqueur is made from the grape based spirit of Tsikoudia, and combined with distilled water, local honey and a blend of local spices, and caramel.

Located in Heraklion, Crete’s largest city, the Stamataki Brothers Distillery, is the island’s most well known distiller of the Cretan spirit known locally as Tsikoudia. This is a grape distillate made from a blend of the Cretan grape varietals, Soutani (50%), Liatiko (25%), and Grenache Rouge (25%).
