Camazotz is a hand-made raw sugar cane rum produced in the eastern highlands of Oaxaca, Mexico.
It’s the combination of family tradition, ancestral distilling techniques and the region’s terroir that make Camazotz Rum a rare elixir.
Camazotz shares similar heritage to Agricole and Cachaca style rums, being very expressive of its raw ingredient – sugar cane, though its more elegant and smoother than its counterparts. With nothing added or taken away, it’s true to its Oaxacan aguardiente heritage.
The Joel Richard Escencia is 100% pure Colombian rum, aged in used American oak bourbon barrels for 25 years. Fermented from pressed sugar cane juice for a distinctive style. Once the fermentation is complete 70% has been distilled in a continuous column and 30% in an alembic pot. This combination is a great balance between complexity and smoothness.

The soul of rum is that Spanish gold that gradually reached the remotest corners of Patagonia, setting off from Hispaniola on 12th October 1492. This was the start of a tremendous to and fro of missionaries, monks, conquerors, pirates, cadets of all sorts and more besides; bringing passion, a longing for redemption and a desire to succeed, all compelled to leave the old world behind and start anew. We’ve all imagined (or will imagine) at some point, climbing aboard a caravel, a sailing ship or a transatlantic liner to sail west on the ocean waves. Enlivened by this “nuevo” sentiment, we resolved to create a Spanish style blend, with the burning passion of the tales of Don Quixote and the raucousness of Pamplona during the festival. The opulently scented bouquet is dominated by hints of tropical plants and fruits. The first whiff on the nose brings an immediate, powerful punch of molasses. The glass then gradually reveals a powerful body, with good structure propped up by a round, enveloping flavour. The Maya were a tight-knit community and deeply valued love and relationships. To attract love, they would perform a simple and enchanting ritual: in a Sahumerio, they would burn treats to gain the goddess Chantico’s graces. This delicious rum is made using traditional techniques and local Fijian sugar cane. First aged in this tropical climate in bourbon casks, the rum is then sailed to the southwest of France for a second maturation in French oak casks.
This double ageing method paired with Fijian know-how creates a rum with warm notes of exotic fruits and raisin.
BACARDÍ Superior Rum is a light and aromatically balanced rum. Subtle notes of almonds and lime are complemented by hints of vanilla. The finish is dry, crisp, and clean.
