New Riff Distilling continues our exploration of heirloom grains, turning our attention to one of the great traditions of Kentucky whiskey: the vaunted category of wheated Bourbon. Eschewing our usual high-rye focus, we mash locally grown Red Turkey Wheat—a classic 19th century varietal, preserved today by bakers, distillers, and farmers who care about flavor—to craft a high-wheat Bourbon recipe that brings a new depth of grainy, zesty flavor to your glass. Aged over five years in our rickhouse, New Riff Red Turkey Wheated Bourbon unites old-time whole wheat flavor with sour mash craftsmanship, a wheated Bourbon for—and from—the ages.
