Eau de Vigne is a blend of different wine eaux-de-vie without any ageing. It revives the tradition of “La Blanche” (unaged wine brandy), a time when it was appreciated and consumed as is. The success of other alcohols of aged grapes, cognacs, armagnacs, have gradually made people forget this noble white alcohol. As fine breeders, Gilles Merlet and his two sons have blended eaux-de-vie from the family distillery, with distillates from Gascony and other French regions with various grape varieties, mainly Ugni Blanc and Colombard, to offer the right mix: fruity and aromatic.
Eau de Vigne can be enjoyed neat as a digestive, over ice and in cocktails such as the Vine Sour.
Nose: The nose is fine and delicate, it reveals both floral (violet, white flowers) and fruity (Mirabelle plum, pear) notes.
Mouth: The mouth is round, light with a nice persistence. Without sweetness, it is well balanced with predominantly fruity flavors.
