The Summer 2022 Distiller’s Cut starts with our Classic American Single Malt Whiskey originally aged in new American White Oak, then finished in Rhum Agricole barrels. Rhum Agricole differs from traditional rum, as it’s distilled directly from pressed cane sugar instead of fermented juice or cane byproducts like molasses. It usually comes from Martinique, Guadeloupe and Marie-Galante.
On the Nose:
Candied Ginger. Caramel. Petrichor (a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather).
Burnt sugar up front, leading into bright grassy notes. Finishes long and velvety with milk chocolate and freshly cut grass.
On the Rocks:
Vegetal notes move to the forefront, complementing the freshly cut grass served neat. This results in a brighter dram. Black pepper becomes prominent, ending with the same milk chocolate finish.
