Spring 44 Single Malt Whiskey
Spring44 Colorado Single Malt Whiskey mash is created from a recipe of very heavy peat smoked, two-row malted barley and blend of specialty malts including chocolate, cararoma, and crystal. Our whiskey is then transferred and aged in used bourbon barrels and finished on used sherry casks. We do not chill filter, as we believe the oils and esters that would be eliminated during chill filtration would detract from the taste of our spirit. This does mean that our single malt whiskey will become cloudy when ice or water are added.
The result is an “Islay” style whiskey that provides a big, smoky, peaty mouthful of complex flavors.
Spring 44 Single Malt Whiskey Tasting Notes
Aroma | Up front, fruity, followed by notes of wood and leather.
Palate | Smoky notes of tobacco, bitter chocolate and caramel on the front palate. Finish is sweet with subtleties of sherry, vanilla and honey.
Enjoy in cocktails, neat and on the rocks.
