Horse Soldier® Straight Bourbon is a uniquely complex, Rye Bourbon expression, aged in new American Oak barrels, and bottled at 87 proof. Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon is crafted by the men who answered America’s call just day after 9/11 with a daring insertion by small teams of Green Berets mounted on horse back into northern Afghanistan.
This brave and unconventional act earned them the moniker, the Horse Soldiers. The same men were featured in the movie 12 Strong, the documentary Legion of Brothers, and memorialized by the America's Response Monument at Ground Zero. Horse Soldier Straight Bourbons our signature selection and our glass is pressed from molds created with steel recovered from the World Trade Centers.
65% Corn, 30% Rye, 5% Barley; tow row, combination distillers malt and base two row. Water from limestone aquifers carefully filtered for purity. Simply grain, water, yeast and wood without any additives or artificial colors. Aged an average of 3-5 years.
Caramel, toasted corn, oak, cinnamon and dark fruit nose. The taste is fantastic with hints of oak, vanilla, nutmeg, some mild black pepper spice, and a light bit of honey. Good balance, medium body and a warm spicy feel.
