Description
Exclusively bottled for The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2021, this 15-year-old single cask expression presents an intriguing twist on the classic GlenAllachie style.
Hand-selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker, this gloriously rich malt was initially aged in a fresh ex-Bourbon cask before being re-racked into a first-fill sherry hogshead for secondary maturation. Continuously monitored and evaluated, the spirit was then transferred into an American oak cask which had previously held a heavily peated whisky distilled at GlenAllachie, a first in our distillery’s history.
Presented at cask strength of 59.8%, non chill filtered and at natural colour, this release is limited to 233 bottles.
TASTING NOTES:
COLOUR
Intensely Rich Mahogany.
NOSE
Waves of wild honey, toasted almonds and hazelnuts, with stewed dark fruits, orange zest, burnt toffee and camp-fire smoke.
TASTE
Bursting with smoked red berries, black pepper and dried sultanas, followed by layers of dark chocolate, maple syrup, candied ginger and cinnamon.
