Highland Park Valkyrie Scotch Whiskey
A Valkyrie in Norse folklore, was a female figure or soul who had the ability to pick which Viking warriors would die in battle. The divinely selected individuals would go to the afterlife or lobby of the killed, Valhalla which was ruled over by the mighty God, Odin. The Valkyries would recognize the most valiant of the fallen warriors by their strong Valknut tattoo. Death was a respect to Viking warriors – it was particularly observed by them as a start not an end
- Special edition inspired by the rich Viking heritage of Highland Park’s Orkney Islands’ home
- The first release in the three-part Viking Legend series; the next edition, Valknut will follow in 2018
- Triple matured in American oak sherry, American oak bourbon and Spanish oak sherry casks
- Dials up the aromatic Orkney peat resulting in a richer level of honey sweetness on the palate than Highland Park 12 Year Old
