By far, the most popular spirits diagnostic glass among professional tasters. Over 30 major competition events use NEAT as their official judging and tasting glass as extensive independent sensory testing proves beyond a doubt that NEAT delivers more intense aromas and avoids nose-numbing common with tulip style glasses which concentrate nose numbing ethanol. Gender friendly, NEAT permits all sensitive noses to experience the true nature of any spirit distillate, enhancing drinking enjoyment while unmasking the true characteristics of the spirit. Great for all spirits over 40% ABV. NEAT raises the bar for quality spirits and exposes the distillers who hide poor distillation methods behind high ethanol.

Flavor: the blend of taste and smell sensations.  Humans detect over ten thousand aromas but only five tastes (sweet, sour, bitter, salty, umami).  You don't taste raspberries, you smell raspberries and taste sweet.  Add mouth feel (oily, dry, temperature, texture, minty, hot) to get total flavor.  Flavor = Aroma + Taste + Mouth Feel.  Flavor is 90% aroma in spirits.
What is the Major Difference Between Spirits?  Mouth feel and taste change very little from spirit to spirit.  Aroma is the major difference.  Distillers engineer aromas to make different spirits through blending, flavoring, aging, barrel type, multiple distillation, or source (grain, fruit, sugarcane, agave, etc.).  Since aroma is king, we designed NEAT to display aromas at their best. Tulip whiskey glasses, copita, Glencairn, and traditional spirits drinking glasses just don’t cut it, and are now “old school” and obsolete because they concentrate alcohol rather than display aromas.
Evaporation: The “engine” that powers aromas to the nose.  Large evaporation areas + vigorous swirling = Aroma.  No evaporation, no aroma. With NEAT spirits glass swirling promotes aroma. Swirling in a tulip glass forces concentrated alcohol up your nose hiding aromas and destroying your sense of smell. Not in the NEAT spirits glass.
Ethanol Alcohol:  The enemy of perception, judges, and drinkers everywhere, ethanol is anesthetic, and numbs olfactory sensors.  Nosing spirits in a tulip glass delivers nose burn, numbing, olfactory fatigue. Three whiffs and your nose sensitivity is operating at 15% efficiency, making it extremely difficult to pick up important, subtle flavors. The best scotch glass, bourbon glass or spirits glass is the NEAT spirits glass, engineered with olfactory science.
Two Erroneous Assumptions Stagnated Glass Design until NEAT came along: (1) Collect all aromas with a small rim opening so none can escape detection, and (2) Ethanol alcohol cannot be separated from other aromas.  "Just live with it" perfectly describes the attitude of old school tulip glassware users. Tulips concentrate over-abundant, nose-numbing ethanol.
Conventional Glassware: Tall tulip glasses have ridiculously tiny rim areas which collect all aromas into one tiny location smothered by strong, nose numbing alcohol so it's impossible to identify true character. Conventional tulip glass and Glencairn designs are "styled" modifications to the old copita, borrowed from Sherry makers centuries ago prior to scientific awareness.  "Scientific function" is twisted by tulip glass marketers to promote sales where no basis in science exists. Industry chose to promote an “identity badge” icon rather support science. After all, anyone can invent science….NOT.
How do Blenders do it?  Whisky blenders dilute to 20% ABV with water so they don't blow their nose out in the middle of a crucial blending project.  Why?  Because they refuse to accept any glass other than the iconic tall, narrow copita or tulip glass, making it necessary to add water to shut down evaporation and avoid olfactory fatigue.  Who drinks spirits watered down by half?  Not the consumer, so why not use a spirits glass designed to handle the alcohol and maximize drinking enjoyment? Sadly, that much water changes the aroma profile drastically. We have no idea what profile the blenders are blending to. Its nice to smell what's inside that rare, expensive bottle.  A few distillers are moving out of the dark ages by using the best spirits glass ever, the NEAT spirits glass, to make head and tail cuts. Hopefully blenders will wise up, too.
Solving the Problem:  NEAT spirits glass began with science basics, not in a styling studio.  Throw away convergent rims:  (1) Create a wide bowl to promote swirling and improve evaporation, and (2) lower the rim to get the nose close to aromas, and (3) Squeeze vapors with a neck to increase kinetic motion, then let aromas expand.  Nose-numbing alcohol aromas disappear over the rim, leaving a "sweet spot" to savor and enjoy.  Roll your cursor over the numbers in the top diagram to see how it works. The NEAT spirits glass is the embodiment of scientific principle. Tulip glass designs are dysfunctional and counter productive.
Taste the Truth:  Taste and aroma are true measures of a spirit's quality.  Alcohol burn overwhelms the truth, spoiling the experience.  NEAT spirits glass eliminates the burn by dispersing nose numbing ethanol.  Award winning choice of professionals, tastemakers and judging events, NEAT is the choice over tulip glasses and Glencairn by those who know and respect spirits.
Still like alcohol on the nose?  You are incorrigible. Push your nose further down into the opening at the neck and sniff.  It's all there.  NEAT spirits glass does the same things all other glasses do only better. No other tasting glass or nosing glass separates alcohol and intensifies character and quality - only the NEAT spirits glass passes the tests of diagnostic function.
