Here at the edge of a lake in a shed in a small Irish town, the ordinary is made extraordinary. Within is the laboratory of PJ Rigney, boundary-pushing begetter of hand-made spirits who slow distills gin with natures finest oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea. Slow distilled by hand in medieval copper pot stills.
Drumshambo Single Pot Irish Whiskey is the first Irish whiskey to come out of Connacht, a western province, in over 105 years. It’s distilled by hand at the Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney from a blend of malted Irish barley, un-malted Irish barley and Irish barra oats.
Gunpowder gin is produced by The Shed Distillery, located in western Ireland, in one of the most rural and pristine areas of the country. The founder PJ Rigney chose this area because of his isolation and here, after many trips to the East, he decided to create a distillery where his curious mind could experiment with the union of exotic botanicals and local botanicals, inspired by the oldest oriental distillation traditions.
All the botanicals aside citrus fruits and tea are slowly distilled by hand in ancient stills dating back to the Middle Ages. Lime, lemon, fresh grapefruit and Gunpowder tea, on the other hand, are infused with steam.
